What are some facts about wellfleet bay wildlife sanctuary?

Wellfleet Bay鈥檚 1,100 acres of salt marsh, sandy beach, pine woodland, freshwater pond, and rare heathland attract a wide array of wildlife, especially songbirds and shorebirds. Discover the true nature of Cape Cod as you amble along the five miles of trails that traverse these habitats.

The scenic trails are complemented by the Nature Center鈥檚 green architecture, our friendly volunteers, and a beautiful butterfly and hummingbird garden.

Enjoy a naturalist-led bird walk on our property or listen to an evening lecture. Participate in hands-on activities aboard our Cape Cod Bay Marine Life Cruise for families. Observe seals, shorebirds and other wildlife on guided tours of Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge and the Cape Cod National Seashore.
