It is not the government that protects wildlife and endangered speices. People protect them. You do this partly by joining grassroots organizations such as http://www.nwf.org/, http://www.oceanconservancy.org/images/i鈥?/a> http://cascade.sierraclub.org/, http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/, among many, many others. These organizations keep you informed of the various issues facing our environment, organize petitions, and lobby for the causes we all hope to protect. The most vital part of their existance is the education of it's members and the general public. It's a geat way to be involved in your environmental community.
Then be aware of your own impact through consumption. Avoid plastics and styrofoam containers. Don't litter, reuse and recycle whenever possible. Here is a wonderful link that gives some illuminating facts and data about our consumption. It is a very good presentation. http://howstuffworks.com
It is we who protect our wildlife and endangered speices directly through our involvement with groups, education, awareness, and taking back control of our government. In what way do you think our government can help to protect our wildlife and endangered species?
The locus of control lies within ourselves to protect things we determine are valuable. Our government has established things like the Endangered Species Act but then allows corporations to log the very habitats wildlife needs to exist. In my opinion the less government is involved in trying to ';help'; society, the better off we will all be.
To be less cynical though methods like educating the public on the importance of endangered species, increasing fines, or expanding the national parks could be a way government could help.In what way do you think our government can help to protect our wildlife and endangered species?
Our government is doing quite enough with the Endangered Species Act.
More than a billion dollars a year goes out to documentation, studies, enforcement and land purchases for the endangered species.
This does not include lost business revenues and development of resources.
I really don't think that they can do anything..because at the moment no one in the government is really paying any attention to the environment or it's animals.
It can and it`s doing it, mainly via National Parks and the Fish %26amp; Wildlife Management department (U.S. Forest Service). Look them up in google.
