What can I use to kill weeds that will not harm the wildlife?

pull them out by their roots, it works every time and doesn't poison the environmentWhat can I use to kill weeds that will not harm the wildlife?
Vinegar, extra strength kills a lot of weeds. What can I use to kill weeds that will not harm the wildlife?
If it's a small weedy area that you want to clear for planting, take a sheet of black plastic or dark tarpaper or some heavy dark cardboard and cover it in the early spring, weighting down the edges with rocks. This will heat the area and kill the weeds and roots--takes about 6 weeks. Then you can plant at will. Good for killing grass where you want to start a flower bed as well.

If it's one or two particularly troublesome weeds, give it a good scalding with boiling water, soaking the roots as well. This will also work on anthills if you do it several times.
Dig them up by the roots just before they develop seeds. I have an acre and I have eliminated all the star thistle, all the pig clover and all the Johnson grass and puncture vine on my property this way. You can also use a flamer. Some weeds are just hard to control, like morning glory. There are an amazing array of chemicals available which target specific weeds and some do not harm wildlife. You should contact a licensed weed and pest control person for suggestions. DO NOT use Round-up if you value frogs and amphibians as it is a deadly toxin to them.
vinegar and vodka works eveytime!! im not kidding!!
Roundup you could almost drink it

ANYTHING in a bottle has side effects!
According to my IPM book. get the soil wet and pull them up,you can also burn them with a torch.

After doing so keep your grass at least 3'; or more to chock out any weeds from coming back. you will have to keep the grass at this height for a few years
pour boiling water on them. they will wilt %26amp; die within 3 days or so
kosher salt water

2 cups kosher salt

safe for kids and pets
boil salt water and pour it directly over the weed, this will also kill any grass or flowers around the weed. I use this on my sidewalk where weeds grow through the cracks.
After a rain, pull them up by the roots.

Put the plants in a sealed plastic bag.

You can also use a shovel, or one of those propane blow torches.
Glysophate, usually it dries quickly and doesnt pose any great risk to wildlife.
Pull them out completely then plant them somewhere else ( or give'em to someone who does that )... weeds are wildlife too, you know !
Most garden stores will sell special pesticides that are organic based.
