Why does the UK have rubbish wildlife?

I mean, look at Africa, they have lions, elephants, etc. And America has wolves, bears, moose, etc.Why does the UK have rubbish wildlife?

Firstly, if humans didnt dump their 'rubbish' in the countryside there wouldn't be 'rubbish' wildlife.


Secondly, if humans didnt clear woods and forests and build on green areas then our native wildlife would thrive and diversify.


Thirdly, If humans had not hunted to extinction the bears, wolves etc the the food chain would have been maintained and diversity would thrive.


Finally, we still have deer, otters, badgers, wildcats (in Scotland), snakes, birds of prey, wild boar, varieties of other birds, insects, foxes, slowworms, frogs %26amp; toads, wild horses %26amp; ponies. If reports can be substantiated we may even have some big cats on the moors,
We have brilliant wildlife,unlike africa,states,australia, which have poisonous spiders, fire ants, killer bees not to mention poisonous snakes and scorpions, bot fly, hookworms, tapeworms which find their way into your brain and various other charming parasites too numerous to mention.


I'm in the highlands of scotland-we have plenty of wildlife here.
It's not really fair to compare an island to much larger land masses. Your area used to host the animals we think of as African. Google ';Donner Banks'; fauna.





A tourist in the UK saw a farmer sprinkling a purple dust over his fields. Intrigued, he asked the farmer what he was doing.





';It keeps the lions away';, said the farmer. ';My daddy did it and his daddy, and so on as far back as we can trace.';





';But';, sputtered the tourist, ';there haven't been lions in England for thousands of years.';





';Works well, doesn't it?'; was the answer.
because the uk is an extreme condition.





It's cold most of the time, meaning reptiles can't really function properly unless specifically adapted.


The UK is small, so big mammals usually get found easily and killed.





So we're left with looking and sheep and horses :)
Most have become extinct. We recently had wolves, bears, elk and a type of lynx but humans have killed or driven them away by stealing their food.





Wallabies still exist which is cool :) and they are in the process of reintroducing wolves to scotland
HAH! The wildlife in other countries is unfortunately on the verge of extinction, then what are they going to do? They'll be queueing up to look at ours...' ah, please let me have a look at your otters?' 'No! Go away, they're mine.'
coz the people living there thought the wildlife was just getting in their way and continued to drive them out of their habitats to build homes and farms and buildings and roads
Different climates = different animals.


Anyways I don't think we do have rubbish wildlife.

That is a matter of opinion. UK wildlife can be very interesting, suited to the climate and terrain and is comparatively safe.
Theres wildlife everywhere, rubbish dumps are an oasis for rare plants plus you'll get foxes. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there
Because any animal large enough to warrant people believing it poses any sort of threat whatsoever is hunted down and shot mercilessly until extinct.
some birds that were once native to the british isles have been reintroduced like the great bustard the heaviest flying bird and the eagle owl the largest bird of prey
The UK has good wildlife, the only rubbish wildlife u ask about are those who leave their rubbish that is killing our wildlife, observe and you shall find
Because the upper-class see hunting as a hobby.

I'm afraid all the half decent willd life has been hunted down and shot. We do still have foxes and badgers and rabbits and things like that
