How to attract wildlife to your backyard?

i live in NY and im wondering what ways i can use to attract different animals to my back yard? How to attract wildlife to your backyard?
Generally, you provide food, water, and cover. For example, a pile of brush will attract mice, which will, in turn, attract snakes. It will also attract the wrath of your neighbors.

The National Wildlife Foundation will provide ideas and possibly certify your back yard as a wildlife habitat. How to attract wildlife to your backyard?
Depends on what kind of animals you want to attract.

Birds: Berry bushes, hedges for shelter/nesting, nesting boxes throughout your property, bird feeders.

Hummingbirds: Hummingbird feeders (and don't use red coloured water)

Squirrels/chipmunks: Ground feeders w/peanuts/sunflower seeds

Butterflys: Butterfly bush, any good flowering shrub

For more info, you can google up what animals you'd like to attract and they will specifically list the plants/flowers you need.

I have a ton of critters and birds in my backyard, and we love it !!!
Put things that the specie your trying to get, for example humming birds: Humming bird feediers or oranges cut in half and put them out side
Hang a big slab of red meat in your back yard.
