Has anyone been to Yellowstone National Park in early October? How was the weather, wildlife, etc.?

I would appreciate any details that you could give me about your trip. Thanks.Has anyone been to Yellowstone National Park in early October? How was the weather, wildlife, etc.?
We went at the End of September. It was so lovely. Nice and cool in the mornings and evenings and just right for hiking during the afternoons. The Elk were out all over the place in Mammonth (NE corner) It was so nice to sit on our cabin porch and listen to the Elk and wolves and watch the full moon.

It's not AS crowded then too. It is still crowded though. nad there's a possiblity for Snow in October in the higher elevations that's why we went in September. Some of the roads close early b/c of snow. Just check in and see what the current close dates are.Has anyone been to Yellowstone National Park in early October? How was the weather, wildlife, etc.?
Early October in Yellowstone is very nice, however one should not be surprised if it should snow some. The days are usually warn and the nights can get rather chilly, there are less people visiting at that time of the year , also the wildlife will be more active as you are starting to hit the rut season for deer and elk. As a unbiased resident of Wyoming I think you will enjoy yourself greatly.....lol Hope I was of some help to you.
