Yes, a stray black kitten. We found him in the snowy mountains, skinny and cold. Took him home and he's loved us for 18 years then he passed away in our arms.Has wildlife ever hitched a ride in your car ?
Only moths, grasshoppers and a couple of other bugs, but if I saw a black cat with a big white stripe down its back appear in my back seat, I'd jump out of the car myself lol :)
Yes, frequently wasps and other insects. Very annoying.

  • Can you explain the relationship between wildlife and human being?

whant is your attitude towards animals? Can you explain the relationship between wildlife and human being?
In most cultures the relationship between man and wildlife is based on religious philosophy. Most of these teach mans, human, dominance over animals. That is one reason is was so easy for the US government to attempt to eradicate the plains buffalo. Major predators are viewed as evil, and evoke fear in people. This fear is largely unfounded, but based on religious teachings. The wolf is a great example. All sorts of devilish traits have been given to the wolf.

I am a field biologist, I have spent my professional life working with animals. I know better than to ';love'; animals. That is just plain illogical and self serving. Respect for life of all kinds is my attitude. This does not mean saving every one, I am not a preservationist, I am a conservationist. Can you explain the relationship between wildlife and human being?

What are 3 reasons why wildlife should be preserved?

1- Humans are killing off species at an increadibly faster rate than natural evolution. So ';preserving'; wildlife is really just stopping the human interferance in the natural process.

2- Species dying off too quickly %26amp; unnaturally (from human influences) throws off natural predatory cycles, which usually ends up with too many of one species which is a big problem. Like we killed off %26amp; took the land from most of the wolves in America %26amp; now we have a huge problem with too many deer that wander onto our roads %26amp; highways.

3- Humans will probably kill off our own species eventually %26amp; it would be nice to know we didn't take the whole planet with us.What are 3 reasons why wildlife should be preserved?
That is the most ignorant question ever. What are 3 reasons why wildlife should be preserved?
The term wildlife refers to living organisms that are not in any way artificial or domesticated and which exist in natural habitats. Wildlife can refer to flora (plants) but more commonly refers to fauna (animals).

Wildlife is a very general term for life in ecosystems. Deserts, rainforests, plains, and other areas鈥攊ncluding the most built-up urban sites鈥攁ll have distinct forms of wildlife.

Humankind has historically tended to separate civilization from wildlife in a number of ways; besides the obvious difference in vocabulary, there are differing expectations in the legal, social, and moral sense. This has been reason for debate throughout recorded history. Religions have often declared certain animals to be sacred, and in modern times concern for the environment has provoked activists to protest the exploitation of wildlife for human benefit or entertainment.

Literature has also made use of the traditional human separation from wWildlife as food

In Stone Age tribes, hunter-gatherers relied on wildlife, both plant and animal, as their only food source. In fact, some species may have been hunted to extinction by early human hunters. With the rise of agriculture and the domestication of some wildlife, this reliance decreased. However, hunting for game remained an important part of many cultures' diet. Today, hunting, fishing, or gathering wildlife is still a significant food source in some parts of the world. In other areas, hunting and non-commercial fishing are mainly seen as a sport or recreation, with the edible meat as mostly a side benefit.[citation needed] Meat sourced from wildlife that is not traditionally regarded as game is known as bushmeat.

    [edit]

    Wildlife preservation

In some countries, protected areas, wildlife preserves or national parks have been set up to protect wildlife and their natural habitat. The most prominent of these are listed as World Heritage Sites or Biosphere Reserves by the UNESCO. The establishment of parks has been motivated by a mixture of environmentalism, tourism, and other factors. Some of these parks merely prevent development of the land, while still allowing limited hunting and fishing as a population control measure. Others forbid hunting or fishing and some may also limit the number or type of tourist excursions. Wildlife crossings have been installed at some roads to reverse habitat fragmentation.

    [edit]

    Wildlife on television

Wildlife has long been a common subject for educational television shows. National Geographic specials appeared on CBS beginning in 1965, later moving to ABC and then PBS. In 1963, NBC debuted Wild Kingdom, a popular program featuring zoologist Marlin Perkins as host. Since 1984, the Discovery Channel and its spinoff Animal Planet in the USA and the BBC natural history unit in the UK have dominated the market for shows about wildlife, especially those produced or presented by David Attenborough..

1.- We are destroying wildlife just because we can. If a superior being develop or visit earth, would they be right to destroy us?

2.- Because we are ignorant of like interdependence. Life in the planet, including our weather depend on healthy ecosystems that we can not mimic efficiently

3.- Because respecting other ways of life actually makes us even better as humans

4.- I know there are conversations about how protecting wildlife reduce poverty, but I havent figure out how yet

Besides of all the benefits we get, like recreation, engineering ideas (designers often copy nature), desease cures (many of them caused by us), etc.

By the way, we have already destroyed human species, or at least races, think about American indians, for example.

Cabin owners. Do you have humorous stories about wildlife intrusions in your cabin ?

Bear in your maple syrup, skunks in your attic, etc.Cabin owners. Do you have humorous stories about wildlife intrusions in your cabin ?
This is a story I heard from friends: They went out for a nice morning walk after breakfast, and when they came home, they discovered bears had pushed open a sliding glass door (it was partially open, but locked; the bears broke the lock). The bears overturned the refrigerator and ate everything inside, ate everything in the pantry, ate the dog food, drank the beer, then had upset tummies and had diarrhea in every room in the cabin before breaking down the front door to get out. It was completely disgusting and astounding, and probably not very humorous at the time!

Careers dealing with environment and wildlife?

with the least amount of math? environmental engineer ? animal science majors? which careers use the least amount of math?Careers dealing with environment and wildlife?
Generally, colleges %26amp; universities have a minimum general studies math requirement to graduate. You may need more than that if you want to take some of the hard and soft sciences. I found it was easier to learn the math once I got into areas of science that I liked.

I hated general chemistry and non-organic chemistry - but I loved biochemistry because it related to what I was doing. Biology was an application of some of these pricincples so I liked that, too.

Don't let a career frighten you off because of math - You may want to become a naturalist at a national park or work at a tour agency. Then you can combine both topics. I've been to some great parks where the naturalists have been terrific.

What are 3 reasons why wildlife should be preserved?

    seriously?

    1. because we are the caretakers of the earth, like it or not.

    2. everything on earth is interrellated and if the balance is lost it could, theoretically be our undoing

    3. that bug's venom might cure your mom's cancer but that bird is eating the bug too much because we killed the birds predator for a cure for aging skin. What are 3 reasons why wildlife should be preserved?
,so animals do not go extinct, keep the population on some down, cause its beautifulWhat are 3 reasons why wildlife should be preserved?
In strict darwinism, maybe wildlife should not be preseverd. Those species that cannot adapt become extinct.
Om gosh!!! I hope to heavens this isn't really homework. I'm hoping this your silly attempt at humor. If so, try again. If not. God help you! OK the 3 reasons among millions WHY we need to preserve our wildlife.

    1. Without our wildlife, life will no longer exist. We need the wildlife to feed us, cloth us and help us understand where we came from.

    2. Wildlife is our path to the past.

    3. Wildlife helps us by eating insects that would plague the earth. Thus eat our crops and we would starve.

    So any other bright questions?

Not enough wildlife closeby to do it

Why does the UK have rubbish wildlife?

I mean, look at Africa, they have lions, elephants, etc. And America has wolves, bears, moose, etc.Why does the UK have rubbish wildlife?
Yes, immigration is a problem! Why does the UK have rubbish wildlife?
Firstly, if humans didnt dump their 'rubbish' in the countryside there wouldn't be 'rubbish' wildlife.

Secondly, if humans didnt clear woods and forests and build on green areas then our native wildlife would thrive and diversify.

Thirdly, If humans had not hunted to extinction the bears, wolves etc the the food chain would have been maintained and diversity would thrive.

Finally, we still have deer, otters, badgers, wildcats (in Scotland), snakes, birds of prey, wild boar, varieties of other birds, insects, foxes, slowworms, frogs %26amp; toads, wild horses %26amp; ponies. If reports can be substantiated we may even have some big cats on the moors,
We have brilliant wildlife, unlike africa, states, australia, which have poisonous spiders, fire ants, killer bees not to mention poisonous snakes and scorpions, bot fly, hookworms, tapeworms which find their way into your brain and various other charming parasites too numerous to mention.

I'm in the highlands of scotland-we have plenty of wildlife here.
It's not really fair to compare an island to much larger land masses. Your area used to host the animals we think of as African. Google ';Donner Banks'; fauna.

A tourist in the UK saw a farmer sprinkling a purple dust over his fields. Intrigued, he asked the farmer what he was doing.

    ';It keeps the lions away';, said the farmer. ';My daddy did it and his daddy, and so on as far back as we can trace.';

    ';But';, sputtered the tourist, ';there haven't been lions in England for thousands of years.';

';Works well, doesn't it?'; was the answer.
because the uk is an extreme condition.

It's cold most of the time, meaning reptiles can't really function properly unless specifically adapted.

The UK is small, so big mammals usually get found easily and killed.

So we're left with looking and sheep and horses :)
Most have become extinct. We recently had wolves, bears, elk and a type of lynx but humans have killed or driven them away by stealing their food.

Wallabies still exist which is cool :) and they are in the process of reintroducing wolves to scotland
HAH! The wildlife in other countries is unfortunately on the verge of extinction, then what are they going to do? They'll be queueing up to look at ours...' ah, please let me have a look at your otters?' 'No! Go away, they're mine.'
coz the people living there thought the wildlife was just getting in their way and continued to drive them out of their habitats to build homes and farms and buildings and roads
    Different climates = different animals.

Anyways I don't think we do have rubbish wildlife.

We have animals like otters, deer, loads of birds etc
That is a matter of opinion. UK wildlife can be very interesting, suited to the climate and terrain and is comparatively safe.
Theres wildlife everywhere, rubbish dumps are an oasis for rare plants plus you'll get foxes. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there
Because any animal large enough to warrant people believing it poses any sort of threat whatsoever is hunted down and shot mercilessly until extinct.
some birds that were once native to the british isles have been reintroduced like the great bustard the heaviest flying bird and the eagle owl the largest bird of prey
The UK has good wildlife, the only rubbish wildlife u ask about are those who leave their rubbish that is killing our wildlife, observe and you shall find
Because the upper-class see hunting as a hobby.
haha,,,there is plenty of wild life over there....lemmings,lots of lemmings, did i mention lemmings?
I'm afraid all the half decent willd life has been hunted down and shot. We do still have foxes and badgers and rabbits and things like that
we got lots of wildlife, they arrive in lorries across the channel

    Wild life in Iraq, psshh, have you people even left anything there? The whole country has been bombed to smithereens by Bush, and now theres a civil war surfacing, and all you care about is wildlife. And any wildlife there is probably dead already%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

flamingoes, green sea turtles - ALL DEAD, because of this pathetic war, no not war, its an INVASION.
you mean the life is not wild enough for you over there?
sheeshh isn't life hectic enough without identifying stuff. Anyway, i was going to say that u should search the net but since that might be difficult, just pick up a book or two from amidst the rubble !! :)
    hey use the GOOGLE SEARCH...
Actually you wont be able to find much interesting animals any more because of the war that just happened in Iraq.

Well if you like animals that much you should try the zoos,Wild life sanctuaries if any, mainly you will be able to find them in the forests.

You may prefer Web Site Google.

Where can i help save wildlife from circuses? and another question?

Im just wondering, i want to help rescue animals from the circus and what not, how do i go about that? Also im in grade 11 and i realized i want to do something in the feild of wildlife when i graduate highschool, how do i go about this and what do i need (ie. college) any info would help, thanksWhere can i help save wildlife from circuses? and another question?
It's great to hear that you are taking an interest in saving wildlife! The advice that I can offer really only applies if you want to rescue animals that have been abused, neglected, or displaced.

If you really want to pursue this, then volunteering is a great place to start. Most zoos, animal shelters, and wildlife sanctuaries/refuges have volunteer programs that will give you a good insight into the world of animal rescue, and it helps to build your resume.

When you go to college, majoring in zoology, biology, or other applicable program will put you on the right track. A college counselor will be able to help you decide which major is best, and what classes will be most beneficial.

Lastly, internships are vital. Unlike volunteering, internships will give you more of a hands on experience with the work that these people do. (You just may not be hands on with the animals.)

Why do people not like wildlife in their yards?

I used to live in the woods and we used to get opossums, rabbits, foxes, and raccoons at night. There were a lot of raccoons and opossums that came because we left cat food out for them. • Are there any places to do wildlife volunteering around Orland Park (or Chicago) Illinois?

Hi. I'm a current volunteer at a wildlife rehab center here in California. I am moving to Orland Park Illinois this summer. I would like to continue working with wildlife, however I am having a hard time finding a place to volunteer. I have written several email to different organizations but have not gotten any responses. Can somebody out there help me with this? A name...phone number or email address of a wildlife care center would be great. Any suggestions? Are there any places to do wildlife volunteering around Orland Park (or Chicago) Illinois?

    ';It keeps the lions away';, said the farmer. ';My daddy did it and his daddy, and so on as far back as we can trace.';

    ';But';, sputtered the tourist, ';there haven't been lions in England for thousands of years.';

    Wild life in Iraq, psshh, have you people even left anything there? The whole country has been bombed to smithereens by Bush, and now theres a civil war surfacing, and all you care about is wildlife. And any wildlife there is probably dead already%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

flamingoes, green sea turtles - ALL DEAD, because of this pathetic war, no not war, its an INVASION.
you mean the life is not wild enough for you over there?
sheeshh isn't life hectic enough without identifying stuff.

Don't know about laws, but natural habitats have been saved.

What continent has the best wildlife?

In my opinion, no other continent offers the same opportunities to see such diverse wildlife, free and often in very close proximity as Africa does.

Cheetah, Hippo, Lion, Giraffe, Lion, Rhino, Warthog, Wilderbeast, Zebra, Gorilla, Crocodile and so on

But that is my opinion, what's yours? What continent has the best wildlife?
AfricaWhat continent has the best wildlife?
I went up into the hills past my house and saw:

chickadees, deer, feral cats, skipper butterflies, frogs, owl poop, shrub rabbits, juncos, sharp shinned hawks, house finches, dragon flies, and dog tracks. I know there are also bobcats, foxes, coyote, pumas, and millions of insects. In other areas of North America, there are several kinds of bear, moose, Canadian lynx, wolves, bison, and other megafauna.

It is easy to romanticise Africa, however, the animals you grouped together are not generally going to be seen in the proximity that you have described. For example, gorillas and chimps live in forests and mountains, while lions and cheetahs live in the savannah. Wildebeest migrate, depending on the weather, and so on. Also, our experience of Africa as travellers is with hired tour guides in parks where the animals are so acclimated to humans that they don't flee when they see the jeeps. In the U.S., you have to really look for them.

If you are interested in sheer biodiversity, the remaining rainforests in South America and Southeast Asia are varied and interesting. Go while you can, before the palm oil plantations destroy them completely. But, that's not easily seen in a jeep with a guide and a camera. You have to work for that!

It depends on how you define ';Best';. I personally think Africa has a wonderful wide variety of animals ranging from every size and shape that appear to be somewhat alien to other cultures.

Now the best place that has wildlife would be the ocean (Pacific perhapse). Especially as one's depth increases.

I think the cuttlefish are one of the most remarkable creatures alive.
I say South America, but in a few years the only place you will be able to see any of these animals is in a zoo, they have the River Dolphin in the amazon, the Giant River Otters 5 feet long Anacondas 30 feet long, Sloths Lllamas
    england/every weekend.
    You're right

Effect of Nuclear Waste/ dumping on the Wildlife?

    Hi,

I just wanted to know if someone could give me some examples of the effects of Nuclear waste on the environment. I live in an area close to a power plant and this plant is right by the water/protected area.Effect of Nuclear Waste/ dumping on the Wildlife?
You probably need to look up what the nuclear tests of the '40s and '50s did to the various testing grounds -- sites in the US west, Woomera in Australia, anything you can find out about Russia, etc.

Later on, there were the French, testing on remote tropical islands in the southern Pacific; and China, India, and Israel are all nuclear nations now -- so where was their testing done?

The likely effects of nuclear waste on the environment is exactly why nuclear waste disposal is such a hot political topic, and has led to things like plans to bury such wastes 2 miles under the earth; and things like ships, loaded with nuclear-waste cargoes, being refused docking-and-unloading privileges all over the world, travelling for months and years while their owners try to organize something.

You don't ask simple questions, do you? :-D :-D :-DEffect of Nuclear Waste/ dumping on the Wildlife?
    deform animals

    kill them

pollute water and a lot of other stuff

Can someone tell me about the wildlife in NC?

You're on the money with most of the species you've named. there are certainly trout, in fact many waters in the Western part of the state are designated as protected trout fishing waters. Salmon also exist, but this tends to be more of a West coast fish. As far as the cats you mentioned, there are certianly cougars, possibly bobcats but lynx I highly doubt. There is a really nice website that allows you to enter your zip code and it will give you a ';virtual'; field guide to find out what animals inhabit your area. Go to: http://enature.com
Trout would be the fish here, not Salmon.

As far as cats go, there's probably a good few bobcats. But Cougars (or lynx, or ';mountain lions';...same thing) are native to the area but are so endangered most wildlife experts do not think there are hardly any left in the state.

Another NC wildlife to think about are wolves....the eastern part of the state is home to the Highly Endangered Red Wolf (not to be mistaken for the more abundant grey wolf).

Latin will help with taxonomy and improve your English vocabulary, as well as your Spanish if you decide to take that later on.

Spanish will help you if you end up taking a job in the West, which you probably will if you want to work with wolves.

I don't know how much time you have left in high school. Can you take both? If not take Latin for 2 years and Spanish in college.I want to become a wildlife biologist. Should I take Latin or Spanish?
Depends on where you want to work - Spanish might be helpful in the American Southwest. I think a semester or two of Latin would be good for taxonomy though, plus quite a lot of anatomical vocabulary is Latin, setae, ocelli, anterior, orbitale, that sort of thing.

I've taken bio classes and I had high school Latin, and I could breeze through anatomical memorization, while the ex Spanish students had the advantage of being able to order tacos more efficiently.
When I studied latin at the school, it was only for reading chronicles of Julius Caesar wars and something so. Nothing to do with wildlife, believe me. Speak spanish!
    Spanish. Makes sense.

  • How does automotive gasoline that has contaminated a certain area effect wildlife?

This is actually a more common problem than most people realize. Refueling stations commonly have underground tanks that start to leak from heat cycling, ground water pressure and old age.

The fuel can contaminate the ground water, which will in turn sterilize the soil bacteria, poison the insect larvae in local streams and rivers, result in poisoned fish, potentially poisoning other predators up the food chain.

Poisoning can be mild to severe ranging from liver damage, impotency, muscle paralysis, slowed reaction, brain dysfunction, death, etc.

We can keep animals in zoos to help facilitate captive breeding to introduce an endangered species into the wild That's the only reason I see to keep captive animals.

Without going to vetinary or vet tech school -- who has classes?Setting a bird's broken wing or take care of sick wildlife -- where I could go to learn to do that?
See if your state requires you to be a licensed/certified wildlife rehabilitator (some do, some don't). Your state game office (listed in the phone book, or on line) can help you here.

Ask them for the name of someone in your area that does wildlife rehabilitation. It may be a zoo, vet, or private individual.

Contact that organization/person and see if you can volunteer some time - you'll get to clean lots of cages and prepare food for the animals there - but you can also learn what you need to know!

My state requires a written test to become certified, and the state game agency provides the study materials (books %26amp; such), but recommends volunteer experience as well. If your local rehabilitator covers a large area, you may be able to become a ';satellite'; facility where you live once you've gained the experience.Setting a bird's broken wing or take care of sick wildlife -- where I could go to learn to do that?
Check with your local Audubon Society in your area. You can also find out from your Fisheries and Wildlife Department on how to become a wildlife rehabilitater. You can ask for names of rehabilitater in your area and see if you can volunteer to help them. You will learn how to care for birds and animals through them. Setting birds wings should be left to specialized Avian Veterinarians because their bones are so delicate.

What kind of job can i get with a forestry wildlife certificate or degree?

I have never head of a forestry wildlife degree.

I majored in Wildlife management and Ecology.

Honestly, there are not many jobs available. The job market is extremely fierce, and many of my peers applied for 60 jobs before actually getting one (and with good grades and decent experience). I am actually going on to veterinary school because there are no jobs available.

Job potentials: Zookeepers, researchers (collect data on wild animals), working for the state or federal government maintaining populations (which could be feeding, hunting, traslocating, etc). Most of the jobs are temporary- for every full time job, there are usually over 1,000 applicants, sometimes more.

Can someone tell me about the wildlife in NC?

I'm doing some research, and I was curious about the habitats of bobcats, lynx as well as cougars - do these cats live in western North Carolina?

While we're at it, are Salmon found there? What's a popular catch? Trout?

Thank you everyone for any help - much appreciated :)Can someone tell me about the wildlife in NC?
You're on the money with most of the species you've named. there are certainly trout, in fact many waters in the Western part of the state are designated as protected trout fishing waters. Salmon also exist, but this tends to be more of a West coast fish. As far as the cats you mentioned, there are certianly cougars, possibly bobcats but lynx I highly doubt. Hope that helps. Can someone tell me about the wildlife in NC?

I want to become a wildlife biologist. Should I take Latin or Spanish?

I know that Spanish is good because it is the second most spoken language, but I know Latin helps with English grammar and science. (taxonomy) Which one should I take? Give me the POSITIVES of each one, not negativesI want to become a wildlife biologist. Should I take Latin or Spanish?

How does automotive gasoline that has contaminated a certain area effect wildlife?

This is actually a more common problem than most people realize. Refueling stations commonly have underground tanks that start to leak from heat cycling, ground water pressure and old age.

now again because of illegal hunting the population has came down to 150 and government is taking no efforts to save this mysterious animal. What wildlife conservation efforts in south asia have been taken and how much success is met uptill now?

From an environmental standpoint, why is sustainable logging bad for the forest and wildlife?

It isn't. All trees die, they do not live forever, the older they get the more likely they are to die. Thinning forrests reduces the likelihood of forest fires and opens up areas for foraging by deer and other herbivores.

    Logged areas are re-planted.

A by-product of logging is access roads that can be used to fight fires. From an environmental standpoint, why is sustainable logging bad for the forest and wildlife?
The answer is that it is not. Sustainable forestry is the only sort of forestry that benefits both forest and wildlife. Organizations like the Forest Stewardship Council are really playing their part in creating an environment, excuse the pun, were sustainable forestry can be assured. Landowners, loggers, sawmills, retailers and consumers can unite to produce and buy products that have been produced under controlled and audited conditions.

Coming from a back-ground in forestry myself, I have seen the good work that can be done. The whole environment is considered. The timber you are allowed to fell, the vehicles you are allowed to use and their state of repair, the people who are allowed to purchase your timber and even the types of fuel you can use in your chainsaw.

Timber can be tracked from the forest to the retailer. Landowners across the globe are participating. Schemes like this have to be encouraged to ensure that the timber we are using is being replenished in a way that means we will leave something to the next generation.

The key has to be planting native trees, reducing timber imports, reducing the reliance on 'fast' growing stock that requires clear felling to provide economically viable management. Selective felling guided by accurate gps location of individual trees will also go a long way to ensuring our rainforests can withstand logging. From an environmental standpoint, why is sustainable logging bad for the forest and wildlife?
It's not sustainability that is bad, it's the way that the forest is logged and replanted. Usually, the problems are massive clearcutting and replanting in a monoculture.
It isn't. We have been doing sustainable logging for at least 10,000 years. They have been doing clear cutting and replanting in the United States for over 100 years.
    What is 'sustainable'?

Why dont we protect the rest of the land we have for wildlife and for endangered species?

Because the human population keeps increasing, and the demands each person makes on the earth in terms of use of resources per person keeps increasing. Thus, more and more land is always required to met the demands of the population. This is known as ';economic growth'; and it is considered by our leaders to be a good thing, for some perverted reason.

If we could only find some way to slow down this monster called ';economic growth';, we could do as you suggest.

Vinegar, extra strength kills a lot of weeds. What can I use to kill weeds that will not harm the wildlife?
If it's a small weedy area that you want to clear for planting, take a sheet of black plastic or dark tarpaper or some heavy dark cardboard and cover it in the early spring, weighting down the edges with rocks. This will heat the area and kill the weeds and roots--takes about 6 weeks. Then you can plant at will. Good for killing grass where you want to start a flower bed as well.

If it's one or two particularly troublesome weeds, give it a good scalding with boiling water, soaking the roots as well. This will also work on anthills if you do it several times.
Dig them up by the roots just before they develop seeds. I have an acre and I have eliminated all the star thistle, all the pig clover and all the Johnson grass and puncture vine on my property this way. You can also use a flamer. Some weeds are just hard to control, like morning glory. There are an amazing array of chemicals available which target specific weeds and some do not harm wildlife. You should contact a licensed weed and pest control person for suggestions. DO NOT use Round-up if you value frogs and amphibians as it is a deadly toxin to them.

After a rain, pull them up by the roots.

Put the plants in a sealed plastic bag.

You can also use a shovel, or one of those propane blow torches.
Glysophate, usually it dries quickly and doesnt pose any great risk to wildlife.

pour boiling water on them. they will wilt %26amp; die within 3 days or so
    kosher salt water

    2 cups kosher salt

    1 gallon of water

mix until dissolved and pour on the weeds 1 x a week till the weeds die

    safe for kids and pets
boil salt water and pour it directly over the weed, this will also kill any grass or flowers around the weed. I use this on my sidewalk where weeds grow through the cracks.
After a rain, pull them up by the roots.

Put the plants in a sealed plastic bag.

You can also use a shovel, or one of those propane blow torches.
Glysophate, usually it dries quickly and doesnt pose any great risk to wildlife.
Pull them out completely then plant them somewhere else ( or give'em to someone who does that )... weeds are wildlife too, you know !
Most garden stores will sell special pesticides that are organic based.

Any ideas or accessory ideas for wildlife bedroom?

Is the bedroom for an adult or a child? If it's a child's room, cute animal sheets/duvet, cuddly stuffed animals everywhere, animal wall mural...

If it's for an adult, polished wood floors with a huge white fluffy rug, animal print duvet/sheets, natural wood bedside tables and dresser, tall vases with long dried grasses in them. Do not go overboard with animal prints or it will look tacky.Any ideas or accessory ideas for wildlife bedroom?
